Dan Blanton’s Whistler fly has definitely earned a place in big-game fly angler’s hearts, but the CF Whistler from Rainy’s improves on the original by including materials that give the fly more life and action. Craft fur with a nice blending of very fine flash combine to create a fly that surely isn’t a wall flower. The large bead chain eyes get the fly into the strike zone and keep it there. Try one the next time you’re tackling freshwater pike, musky, peacocks, dorado, and many saltwater species like bluefish, jacks, and barracuda.
