Zonker Lead Tape is an adhesive backed lead tape that’s generally added to the top of the hook to create a minnow-like body shape and to cause the hook to ride point up. Soft enough to be cut to shape, lead tape is effective and easy to use. As the name implies, zonker streamers are a prime example of its use, but don’t limit yourself to a single application. Try it on any patterns where self-righting is a concern, or where adding weight is necessary but lead wire won’t do the trick.
